i think this would be a cool idea and it would even be a good way to get people more interested in pvp. like me for instance i dont pvp much because theres no real reward for winning other then facton or price for losing. i would like for there to be regular arenas like now and then maybe add a gambling arena that each party member has to put in gold to play. also to play you would have to match the other teams bet. like if 1 team of 4 all put in 5k thats 20k your group will have to match to play that group. also for people that ive seen mention how some people just stand there in battles well they may not stand there if they have some of their on gold betted on the match lol. anyway i think it would be a cool thing to add to the game. it sure would make guild matches more interesting to me lol.

I like your idea. Maybe this could also be add to guild battles, as there is a delay of 25 minutes. That would make spectating a guild battle much more fun!

I disagree with guild battles, I could make millions from that cuz my guild does alot of gvgs and obviosly I can see if they won or lost on the guild statut and bet like 100k on the winning team

yeah it would have to be random teams though i think so people couldnt exploit it and have friends join other teams and just stand there to help the other team win and then split the gold.

I thought of this before, and while I considered it a good idea at the time, but I have since reconsidered. There are fundamental problems with it - not the least of which is that there are places with funny laws against forms of electronic gambling.

Furthermore, as Soul_Train mentioned, I can totally see scams resulting out of this. For example, I could join a team, put some of my money on the line, and then *deliberately throw the match* so the other side wins - in return for a share of the winning cut. All unbeknownst to the poor team who I have just duped.

Even random teams wouldn't be a very good idea, because ... well, I know *I* wouldn't dare to wager any gold if I knew that one of my teammates could get fed up with his random team setup and leave (under the impression that his team was clearly going to lose anyway). Or maybe you end up with four Monks on a team. Or four noobs. You don't know who you're going to end up with on your team - don't know the build, don't know the skill of your team. Let alone wether or not you're going to win!! I'd never wager gold on stakes like that!

However, this gives me an idea to prevent leavers - require a refundable amount of gold from the player as a security deposit.. If they stay in the game through the match, they get it back. If not, they're out that gold.

Anyway, back to the betting: It's a good idea in theory, but I fear the complications of its effects in the field would quickly make it a bad idea in practice.

i had this idea for 1 vs 1 , but i sign for all pvp matches , free matches would be practice , as they feel they are now.

minimum is zero , max could be 5k for each player and possible to low bet if oponent doesnt have that kind of amount.

i can see naked warrior - lost all in pvp , hahahaha

It wouldn't work, because live telecast of arena matches are not allowed to prevent cheating.

All current observer mode matches are actually "finished battles" that only bored people who have nothing better to do would actually watch.

So comes the issue. If you allow betting on these, then people who actually participated in these matches would obviously have insider info and bet on the known outcome.

lets say 15k that we will loose.. We loose on purpse.. Yay I got some money. If you wnat to improve this. It should only be able to bet on other matches..
And you should not have the possibilty to chat with those people.. It should be live because then you can not know the outcome of the fight

If it it would be like that, I would support it..

it wont happen it regualar GW because the ESRB would have to review it again. But for an expansion pack shure.
